Back to the  Source

“….People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing…….” Isaiah 23:3ish MSG

Yesterday I experienced something that knocked the wind out of me, and my heart instantly began to hurt. Sitting at my desk trying not to let the tears rain down my face I immediately sent up a short prayer. “Father please show me a sign that you haven’t forgotten about me.”

Honesty moment…. I’ve never ran straight to God when I’m feeling hurt. I will wallow in sadness, cry a little bit, vent to my friends and after I’ve been hurt a few days THEN I would go back to the SOURCE of my strength! And instantly strength is restored. So why is the first instinct not to instantly go to prayer? If it’s always worked, then why not try that first? 🤷🏽‍♀️

After praying…I didn’t get the response that I thought I would get. I thought he was going to send something tangible to brighten my day. Instead, immediately my heart was calmed, I was able to breathe easily again, and peace was restored! That for me was far greater than any one tangible thing I could have in that moment!

My mandate for you today is to get back to the SOURCE! Make the SOURCE your primary go to. The SOURCE has never failed you. The SOURCE never disappoints you. The SOURCE never leaves you. We don’t call him the SOURCE of our strength for nothing! Something as simple as a small prayer can change the trajectory of any one moment. Use your SOURCE first and I promise everything will be alright.

I love ya!
